The author’s willingness to expose her inner self as she deals with the dreaded disease, cancer, accomplishes many feats. Her conclusions reinforce the intertwined connections and mutually supportive roles of one’s mind, attitude, hope, self-awareness, spiritual foundation, combined with the criticality of family and true friends’ engagements and considerations. She also shared her maturing understanding of healing combined with the responsibility for one’s self-preservation that may collide with the medical professionals’ reliance on pharmaceutical concoctions. Studies, theories and testing conclude that cancer cells are part of our make-up and our natural defense mechanisms normally prevail over the destruction that cancer can cause. Having met the author and knowing her background and successful US Army career, permits me to add even more credibility to her thoughts and sharing her “lessons learned” with the reader. I know that if PhD’s were awarded for deep study, meditation, seeking the truth as your spiritual soul matures based upon religious convictions and physical maintenance, LK Rost would have the diploma on her wall. Her battle with cancer put her faith and spiritual inner self to the test. She graduated with honors. We have all experienced the wrath of cancer in many forms. I lost my mother and sister to cancer in addition to high school friends at early ages and recent acquaintances. Thank you for sharing and reinforcing how we can become better human beings from a physical, mental, spiritual and social perspective.

This book is beautifully written and is applicable to anyone no matter what they may be going through. For those that have been diagnosed with cancer, have beaten cancer, or knows someone close to them with cancer, this book will give you helpful tools on how to be in the best possible state of mind and body to battle this disease head on. Filled with insightful guidance and personal stories, the author is very present in the pages making the reader feel as though they found a true friend in their corner during one of the hardest times in their life.

Wonderful!!!

This is a great children's book! The author did a wonderful job with a tricky subject. I feel that it is a perfect book to help children understand blended families. It sheds a positive light on a sometimes difficult situation. Also it is nice to see that there is something out there about blended families for children. Very well done, I highly recommend! I have a blog about stepfamilies and this is just perfect in my mind.

This is a cute story told in rhyme that covers the topic of stepchildren merging into the same household. A girl who starts off with preconceived notions of what her new life will be like learns what can happen in reality. Some of the situations and illustrations are quite humorous. The book is especially great for helping children see the advantages of having instant siblings.

I don't love this coloring book. Has some cool images to color. 1 picture per page which is a must for me. Paper is pretty thin. What bothered me most was that half way through the book, they duplicate nearly all the images in the first half of the book and simply remove the swear words do you can "insert your own". I pay for coloring books so I don't have to insert my own text or images; if I wanted to insert my own, I would have grabbed a scratch paper and saved my money on the book. I guess this might be appealing to some, but definitely not for me. I've included some images from inside the book to provide a better idea of what you will receive so you can determine if you are interested or not; had I have had more info before buying, I would have passed.

OMG! This coloring book is amazingly hilarious and fun! I have been working with a bunch of adult coloring books over the years, but this one has to be my favorite. It has funny sayings and phrases to go with the pictures and the coloring book even has a section where you can label your own and be creatively offensive all by yourself. I highly recommend getting this if you have someone in your life who loves to color and has a great sense of humor.

Fun book with a positive message.

An adorable book with colorful, fun illustrations and clever rhymes. A nice bonus is that it sends a positive message to kids about respecting wildlife. If you're looking for a cute book to capture your kids' attention, this is a great choice. Highly recommended!

Cute book about respecting wildlife and their environment.

A cute rhyming book that teaches children to respect animals and their environment is always going to score high in my book. When you add in the fact that the family featured is non-white, therefore adding more diversity to the childrens' book pool, it just pushes it even higher up.

This was an adorable book with a good message and cute illustrations. The only issue I had with it was that a couple times the rhyme seemed a bit awkward, and didn't really flow off the tongue like it should have.

Overall, though, Carla Faraldo is an author I'm happy to have found, and I'll definitely be checking out more of her kids books!

Fun Children's Book

What a delightful book to read with my daughters! They Loved the vibrant pictures, the rhyming sentences (which they kept reminding me of, as we read!) and the "creatures" in this book. My 6 year old especially loved, as this was at her reading level! I will definitely follow Carla Faraldo's journey as a writer! Well done!!
