About the Author
Hannah England is a budding young author. Her debut work, Discovering Harold, is the first in a number of planned literary adventures. Her gift for storytelling was evident from a very young age, as she often entertainingly regaled her family with creative tales during evenings of family time and road trips in the car. She is fan of Shakespearian plays (at least those she has explored thus far), as well as the works of Jane Austen, and Jack London. She often muses over the beauty she finds about her and loves finding ways of sharing those experiences through her bubbly personality and the natural humor so evident in her writing style. Hannah is homeschooled and lives in Boiling Springs, South Carolina with her Mom, Dad and three siblings.

I read ‘Discovering Harold’ with my niece and we both ...

I read ‘Discovering Harold’ with my niece and we both lved it. The narration expresses the story excellently and I am especially impressed considering the author’s young age. The story of Harold also has a very admirable theme which is, of course, a must-have when it comes to this genre.
I hope to see more in the future!

Rising storytelling star

Discovering Harold is the story of a young deer that was captured by Man and raised in his home with his family. While Harold, who is also known as Jonathan, discovers how humans live, he also discovers more about himself and what is important to him. From a foal to a full-grown deer, readers learn about how mischievous a wild animal can be in a home. Hannah England is an interesting author to follow because she is a homeschooled student with a gift of storytelling. She weaves a beautiful, well-thought out tale from nature that is enhanced with sketches that illustrate the story throughout. My kids liked her vivid descriptions and interesting story. Young readers will enjoy the perspective of the white-tail deer from this rising author and perhaps be inspired to write and publish a book of their own.

We received this book to give an honest review.
K and I both enjoyed this book as we loved to see if Harold was ever going to be able to get home.
Harold whose real name is Jonathan was helped out by man when he had gotten hurt one day in the forest as a fawn. Through Harold/Jonathan's eyes we see what he gets to experience from trying cake for the first time, to getting close to the family and the animals that are around him at the family's home. Harold thinks about his family from time to time so when he becomes old enough to be in the wild will he take it or decide to stay?
Honestly this was a lovely book that was fun to read from an animal's p.o.v. with short chapters.
